Why do the minds and societies of apes and humans differ as much as they do? Why have other primates no language like humans? Why do other primates live in natural environments instead of constructing their own? Simply saying that humans are more intelligent does not yet explain how this situation evolved.

You have to speak the language to understand a culture, and the struggle to develop the language of science proved to be unnaturally difficult. Science was born around the 16th century out of Natural Philosophy, a new philosophical approach which required evidence for the validation of all claims without exception.
